Introducing A New Series

Celestial Eats is a new series on this blog, where I’ll explore ingredients based on what’s in season in southern California as well as the zodiac’s season, sharing recipes that align with each astrological sign.

This series will highlight ingredients connected to the current sky, whether a grounding roasted root veggie dish for the weeks in Capricorn or an irresistibly bright, juicy Panzanella to match Leo’s hot girl energy (or hot boy or hot non-binary energy. Everyone’s royalty during Leo season).

Over the years, I’ve studied tarot and astrology, and have been unable to resist tracking planetary movements and attending annual discussions on the Chinese zodiac. These insights naturally weave into many aspects of my life, including cooking. With this series, I’ll share recipes that reflect both the season’s produce and its astrological context.

What I really want to share is a way to approach food through a different lens—one that connects us to seasonal rhythms and celestial cycles. It’s a nice reminder that we’re all connected and are all part of the universe’s movements. Whether you follow astrology closely or are just looking for fresh, seasonal meal ideas, I hope you find a little bit of magic here to add to your everyday life.
